EPFIGMS: EPF Grievance Portal & Lodge EPF Complaints Online

Now you can file a complaint to EPFO directly using their grievance portal called EPFIGMS. This is a website where you can register your grievances for any EPF related complaints online. Generally its very difficult for people to register their complaints related to EPF issues, but with the help of this EPFIGMS platform one can easily do the same and also track the status.

Now you don’t have to visit any nearest EPFO office and stand in queue for registering your EPF complaint. Just use the EPFIGMS website and file your complaint. As per EPFO, they will resolve your EPF issue within 30 days of time. But make sure you are quoting your UAN (Universal Account Number) as this is mandatory from 2016 onward.

What is EPFIGMS – EPF Grievance Management System

It was not that easy to register EPF complaint online before the launch of EPF Grievance Management System. This is basically an online portal where you have to register with your EPF & UAN details and accordingly raise a complaint. In fact you can raise a complaint against your Employer also through this portal.

The only requisite for this portal is that your should be an EPF member. Means an employee (if you know your EPF number or not), EPS pensioner or employer.

List of common EPF issues for which one can lodge EPF complaint online

Before proceeding further, let’s find out what are the common types of issues generally you can raise through this portal. Below are the 8 types of complaints you can raise directly selecting them, but in case your reason is not listed here then you have to choose the OTHER option and the proceed further.

  • Final Settlement / Withdrawal of PF
  • Transfer of EPF balance (F-13)
  • Scheme certificate (10C)
  • Settlement of pension (10D)
  • Issue Of EPF slip / PF Balance / EPF passbook
  • Payment of insurance benefit (5IF). It is related to EDLI benefit.
  • Cheque returned / misplaced
  • Or any other complaints.

Steps to Register a EPF Complaint Online Using EPFIGMS Portal

Step #1: First of all you have to visit the http://www.epfigms.gov.in. This is the official website for registering EPF complaints online.

Step #2: From the menu options, click on REGISTER GRIEVANCE option. On that screen you have to fill up the long form with your EPF details & other personal information. Make sure you are putting all the mandatory fields and in case you don’t have EPF number then you have to select Others.

Step #3: Next, important thing is to choose the proper grievance type from the listed 8 types. If nothing is matching with your criteria then choose others option. After that describe your complaint in detail.

Step #4: After that review the details again and finally submit the form. You will also get these information in your email address.

Check Status Online

It will generate a registration number so that in future you can track your EPF complaint online using this registration number through epfigms.gov.in website. Simply click on View Status option and find out the status.

Send Reminder to speed up the process

In case you find it is taking too much time, you can easily use the SEND REMINDER option as well and let them know about the current status. Generally if it takes more than 2 weeks and you did not receive any response from them, then you can use this option.

EPFO Social Profiles

Even if you are not able to resolve your EPF complaint, then you can visit their social profiles and post your complain there.
