How To Activate SBI Net Banking Using ATM Card / Debit Card

Generally if you have an old SBI account, then you may not get net banking facility by default. In case, you are opening a bank account in SBI for the first time, the I think you will get the sbi net banking kit at the time of opening SBI account itself.

This facility is available for sbit accounts with single account holder. If you have a joint account, then you have to visit the branch and fill up the SBI net banking application form there itself.

Steps To Activate SBI Net Banking Online

This process is quite long and you have to follow the step by step carefully. Although when you start following the steps, you will automatically understand the next steps.

Step 1: Visit SBI net banking website and click on LOGIN button. You may find there are 3 login button, simple click on the middle one and proceed.

Step 2: On the next screen click on “Continue to Login” button. Then you will find that it is asking for userid & password. If you have received your SBI net banking kit from bank then you can directly proceed with the userid & password. Otherwise click on the  “New user? Register here” option.

Step 3: As soon as you click on the link you will get a pop up message with below message. Click on OK button and proceed further.

You can easily skip the first 2 steps by clicking on the “New User? Register Here” link. Click on the link and simply fill up the online form. You don’t have to visit the branch to get the PPK. After successful submission of this form, you will get the PPK in your home address by post.

Step 4: Now the further steps are kind of self explanatory. You have to provide the information one by one carefully, E.g.  your account number,  CIF number, branch code,  your country, registered mobile number and finally captcha code. Check your passbook for all these informations. Finally click on submit button.

Step 5: On submit you will get a OTP in your registered mobile number and screen will also change and asking for the OTP. Provide the same and confirm further.

Step 6: On the next screen you will find 2 options to choose for. And they are

  • I have my ATM card (Online registration without branch visit)
  • I don’t have my ATM card (Activate by branch only)

This is the time to activate sbi net banking registration online using debit card / ATM card. So, choose the first option.

Step 7: On the next screen you need to provide the Debit card or ATM card details to proceed further. Carefully provide the details and click on submit button. You can see that another screen will appear with same data for confirmation. Click on pay button and continue further.

Step 8: Now go to next screen where you will find a temporary USER NAME generated for you. You can change the username later on after successfully login to your SBI net banking account. Now, provide your login password. Make sure you are providing a secure and difficult password to remember for others, not for you. 🙂

This step will complete the registration process. Keep a note of that temporary username and password so that you can access your SBI net banking service using website for the first time. You have to change the same as soon as you login for the first time.
